If you read my review of Wil Reynolds’ Keynote, you may remember he talked about the power of one: the one person or one session that made all of the time and money you put into getting to Affiliate Summit worth it. For me, this may be that session. I even toyed with the idea of not doing a write-up, as I found this information to be that valuable, but I’ll share it with you.
- Deb and I have done podcasts together, educating merchants on how to run a successful affiliate program. She, from the merchant / OPM side and I as an affiliate. It’s good to make sure you and your partner are on the same page (more on this later).
- I was representing the press (as a blogger) and didn’t want to just cover affiliate sessions.
Wil was took the stage to some sort of Google theme song… too bad I didn’t Shazam it (is Shazam a verb? Now it is). He immediately brought up Panda, and how much he loves it because
crap stopped showing up in results.

The Future of Coupons in Affiliate Marketing with Connie Arnold of Flamingo World, Carolyn Kmet of Groupon, Carrie Rocha (Pocket Your Dollars) and Kim Rowley (Key Internet Marketing). The session was moderated by Trisha Lyn Fawver of For Me to Coupon & host of Affiliate Marketing Fanatics.
The SEO Clinic at Affiliate Summit East, lead by Rae Hoffman-Dolan with Kenny Hyder, Michael Gray and Jim Boykins, was the next session I attended on Sunday. It seems like there were a lot of SEO sessions at Affilaite Summit (SEO Clinic, SEO – Ask the Pros, SEO for Large Sites), but this is one I wouldn’t miss.
The sites reviewed were Big City Vegan, Penny Auction Watch, Ecotools.com, HipJointPainRelief.com , and reuseit.com.
