I’m not a fan of BS quotes, but sometimes things really speak to me. Here’s an ongoing collection of the ones that made me stop & think:

From The Alchemist

  • When each day is the same as the next, it’s because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises
  • People need not fear the unknown if they are capable of achieving what they need and want
  • If you pay attention to the present, you can improve upon it. And, if you improve on the present, what comes later will also be better. Forget about the future, and live each day according to the teachings, confident that God loves his children. Each day, in itself, brings with it an eternity
  • One is loved because one is loved. No reason is needed for loving
  • Every Person on Earth Plays a Central Role in the History of the World

If you think you’re too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito. –African proverb

If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.

African Proverb: Cutting down your neighbours crop won’t make yours grow any better

Whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it is VERY important that you do it. (because nobody else will) – Mahatma Gandhi

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is today.

John Steinbeck on America and Americans and our success

We now face the danger, which in the past has been the most destructive to the humans: Success, plenty, comfort and ever-increasing leisure. No dynamic people has ever survived these dangers

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don’t hoard it. Don’t dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke. – Brendan Francis

The worst thing in life is not to be broke; the worst thing in life is to taste some success, and then you have to go back to being a nobody.Eric Thomas, The Classic

You don’t want me. I’m filled with Scotch, bitterness and impure thoughts – Peter MacCready, We Bought a Zoo

I love to sing, and I love to drink scotch. Most people would rather hear me drink scotch. – George Burns

Great quotes! The Alchemist is one of my all time favorites along with Eric Thomas as a speaker! I have yet to read The Richest Man in Babylon, but it is on my to do list!
